Sprinkler systems run on regular household water pressure. No pressure pump is needed. You just need PVC pipe and nozzles. Some nozzles have rotating paddles or propellers or other design features that help break up and spread the water droplets.
Pros and Cons
Benefits of Sprinklers
Get birds up and moving. They release heat trapped under them while sitting. They drink more.
Does not raise humidity in barn.
Not affected by airflow. Droplets drop down and hit birds in low or high airflow. Similar effect regardless of airspeed in barn.
Reduces dusts in the air.
Issues with Sprinklers
Does not cool the barn. Very little evaporation occurs.
Does not improve wind chill as temperature does not drop.
